Inductive Beacon 2 Makes Human Dose Computable From Structure Alone

What changed

Inductive Bio launched Beacon 2 on 17 September 2026, a system that predicts the efficacious human dose of a small molecule directly from its chemical structure. The platform combines ADMET predictions, potency estimates, and mechanistic pharmacokinetic models. Inductive states the underlying ADMET models won three consecutive OpenADMET blind challenges against more than 750 competitors from leading AI and pharma companies.

A technical post published the same day validates projections across 20 real world partner programs and 325 publicly available compounds from the ExpansionRx OpenADMET competition. In an agentic test, Inductive’s medicinal chemistry agent Indy optimized a disclosed SARS CoV 2 compound across five autonomous design cycles and improved predicted human dose by 17 fold. Beacon 2 is available to partners through Inductive’s Compass platform on live discovery programs.

Why it matters

Dose is the number that decides whether a compound becomes a drug. Teams historically optimize potency and individual ADMET endpoints separately, then discover human dose only after expensive synthesis cycles. A computable dose reward function lets agentic design loops optimize the metric that kills programs, which shifts AI drug discovery from property dashboards to decision grade objectives.

Who is affected

Medicinal chemistry leaders running multi parameter optimization, computational biology groups benchmarking in silico tools, and venture investors underwriting AI native biotech platforms all gain a new evaluation axis. Partners already on Compass can test Beacon 2 without waiting for peer reviewed publication of every validation table.

What to do next

If you run structure based design with agents, pilot Beacon 2 or an equivalent dose predictor on one live program and compare predicted dose ranking against your historical kill decisions. Require vendors to publish blind benchmark methodology, not only headline correlation numbers.

What to watch

Peer review or third party replication of the 20 program validation set and whether major pharma contracts cite dose optimized agent loops in pipeline updates.
