Which test finds retail AI skin scanners miss acne and swing with the light
Which? ran more than 120 scans with 30 people on the Boots skincare tool and published the results on 15 October 2026. Matched lighting barely moved the score, but a change of light swung it by as much as 39 points, and the scanner missed most of the acne testers said they could see.
