Agents Inside the Perimeter: Phylo and Chugai Deploy Biomni Lab Across Discovery Workflows

Phylo and Chugai Pharmaceutical announced on August 4, 2026 that Chugai will deploy Biomni Lab — Phylo's agentic AI platform for biomedical research — across drug discovery workflows covering single-cell analysis, human genetics, disease biology, and target evaluation.

Integrated Biology Environment

Biomni Lab connects more than 300 databases, software systems, and analytical tools into a single workspace. Agents run on Chugai's proprietary research data inside its security perimeter.

Sohei Oyama, head of Chugai's biological technology department, said scientists need tools "designed for the unique challenges of drug discovery research."
